Prior to the formal part of the evening a very interesting presentation was given by Dan Pearson, CEO and Ed Rollings, Consents manager, of Meygen Ltd, the tidal energy developer with an agreement for lease in the Inner Sound of the Pentland Firth. They spoke about their plans for onshore developments to support the tidal arrays.

Matters Arising : Gail Inglis has declined the invitation to join
Treasurer: Account stands at £1,118.45
Village Officer Scheme: £1200 awarded, we have spent a little over that amount (one account still to come in) - agreed it should be met from the general fund. Members expressed satisfaction that a number of worthwile projects throughout the area had been completed to the general benefit of the wider community.
Planning: Noted that the proposed wind turbine at Barrogill has been refused planning.
Membership: Members agreed to encourage local organisations to put forward candidates for co-option to the community council.
